Nigel

Runs Sidcup Cycles when he's not busy supporting your event.

In his own words:

I started my working life as a 'child labourer' in my father's bike shop, as his Saturday boy, aged 11. I have been a commuting cyclist into London, and now cycle just for fun, but not as much as I would like to.

I have been a board member on the Association of Cycle Traders, the body that represents UK independent bike shops, and a board member and President of the European Retailers Two Wheeled Association.

I am a 4th generation bike shop owner and we created Sidcup Cycle Centre in 1994. We currently employ 3people and two part-time staff. And now my Dad works for me!

I have been a tour mechanic since 1993, when I assisted on The Royal British Legion's first annual sportive ride to Paris. Since then I have helped run mechanics' teams for many many charites.

I am a founding director of Service Corps Ltd, and for my sins I am the managing director.

I am most proud of my 'Recycle your Bicycle' scheme. We renovate old bikes and donate them to local schools. Over this project's time I have donated over 300 bicycles to the local community in the London Borough of Bexley, and recently we have started working with Barnardos Childrens Charity delivering refurbished bikes to.

Bob

Bob has worked in numerous roles within the cycle trade for the last 25 years and currently owns and runs a cycle workshop in South West London.

A veteran event mechanic he has worked with groups from one to over one hundred over the years. When not working Bob can sometimes be found racing both on and off road with more determination than skill.

Helmut

Helmut has been in the bicycle business in one way or another since 1989 when he founded Sonic Cycles. The early days were dedicated to made to measure frame building, having made Ray Eden's National 100 Record bike and Graeme Obree's spare Hour Record machine, to name just the most high profile ones.
He has been involved in event support since 2009 with his favourites the various London to Paris rides and Alpine Challenges.

His racing days are over but he still enjoys the odd rides to Box Hill or Windsor Great Park.

Matt

Matt started out in the bike trade as a mechanic, setting up his company SlickDog Cyclesport to offer mechanical service and support to both private individuals as well as corporate and charity events.

He has also managed a number of independent bicycle shops, and currently mixes his event work with a front-of-house role at road and race specialists In-Gear Cyclesport, based in Forest Row, East Sussex.

He also has a strong interest in bikefitting and is trained in both the Trek Precision Fit and Specialized BG Fit systems.
